About the museum
The museum is at Pian del Cansiglio, on the plateau that is home to the centuries-old Cansiglio Forest, and is linked to the activities of the Carabinieri for biodiversity protection, who manage the area. It works as a natural history collection, visitor centre and documentation centre, with themes linked to the natural sciences and the landscape.
The collection presents the natural finds of the Altopiano del Cansiglio (Cansiglio Plateau). Two dioramas recreate the local fauna, with deer, hare and wildcat, while the display cases show mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and insects from the area.
The museum also offers educational routes for schools of all levels.
