About the museum

The Museo del Cenedese is housed in Serravalle, the northern part of Vittorio Veneto, in the former Palazzo della Comunità di Serravalle, a Gothic building erected between 1462 and 1476. The route starts from the loggia, decorated with frescoes by Francesco da Milano (1518–1520), and climbs a neo-Gothic staircase of the early 20th century to the town council chamber, which is also frescoed by the same artist.

The collections include detached frescoes and icons, among them a 15th-century Marian icon by Andrea Ritzos of Candia, a polyptych with the Birth of the Virgin and the Marriage of Nicolò di Pietro (late 14th to early 15th century), a papier-mâché work attributed to Jacopo Sansovino from the sanctuary of Santa Augusta, and a triptych attributed to Francesco and Valerio Zuccati (1569).

There are also two sculptures by Guido Giusti with a plaster-cast gallery dedicated to him, 17th-century works and, in the Sala Pajetta, 19th-century paintings by Giovanni De Min and portraits by Pietro Pajetta. The museum also hosts exhibitions.
