About the museum
The museum was founded in 1996 by the association Ij Canteir, which works to promote the traditions and environment of the Orco and Soana valleys. It collects evidence of the craft and farming work of the area.
The route reconstructs the workshops of several trades with mannequins in period clothing and original tools: the knife grinder, the woodcutter and sawyer, the magnin (coppersmith), the shoemaker, the carpenter, the blacksmith, the glazier, the miner and the chimney sweep.
Two rooms are devoted to farm work, with scythes, rakes, gerle (wicker carrying frames) and tools for processing butter. The last room houses the traditional costumes of the Alpine valleys.
