About the museum
The Schilpario museum, in the upper Valle di Scalve, holds documents, photographs, work tools and everyday objects that show how much the environment, the economy and the structure of the territory required hard and constant work from its inhabitants. It presents itself as a witness and custodian of the community’s past.
The collections are ethnographic in character and make it possible to reconstruct the daily life, trades and traditions of the valley. A route linked to the theme of work is the Sentiero delle Miniere (Mines Trail), also known as the Sentiero dei Minatori (Miners’ Trail), which starts from the village.
Little information about the museum has been published, and some of it dates from 2023; it is advisable to telephone before a visit.
