About the museum
The ethnoanthropological museum and sacred objects museum of Sorrentini was created through the commitment of some residents of the village, coordinated by Nicola Calabria, without the help of public institutions, and was opened on 25 March 1995. The exhibition area is in the hall dedicated to the archpriest Salvatore Sberna.
The ethnographic section holds farm tools, the tools of the shoemaker and the carpenter, loom reeds, Patti ceramics, documents, and books and magazines about the village. The sacred objects section preserves parish property, including a 16th-century cope embroidered on damask with gold threads, 18th-century vestments, 17th- and 18th-century wooden statues, candlesticks, parish registers and lanterns.
