About the museum
The Museo-laboratorio is a unique educational facility of its kind. It explains what has happened and continues to happen within the limestone masses of Monte Cucco and the Umbria-Marche Apennines, and reveals the mysterious paths that rainwater follows inside the mountains before returning to the surface through springs and feeding the aquifers of the lowlands.
The route is designed above all for children and schools: discovery and learning take place through direct participation, thanks to interactive machines, tools and three-dimensional models operated by the visitors themselves.
The visit begins on the ground floor with the screening on a large screen of the documentaries “Il Parco del Monte Cucco” and “Il carsismo di Monte Cucco”, made to introduce the museum's themes in simple language and to encourage visitors to explore the marked trails of the area.
