About the museum
The museum is located on the western slopes of Mottarone, in an abandoned mountain pasture where in 1979 a group of young people settled to set up a farm in harmony with nature, conceived as a small museum. It is part of the Ecomuseo del Lago d'Orta e Mottarone, based in Pettenasco.
The natural history display holds minerals from Mottarone and insects from the area. The centre also has a microscopy laboratory with camera and monitor, used during educational visits.
