About the museum
The parish museum of sacred art in Arvier is housed in the church of San Sulpizio, below the village castle. According to oral tradition, which has no documentary confirmation, the church originally stood in the Leverogne area; the bell tower with its spire is stylistically dated to the 13th century.
The present building is the result of a Baroque remodelling in the second half of the 17th century and was consecrated in 1701. The dome and the two sacristies were added around the middle of the 19th century.
The museum’s collection includes statues of saints and sacred objects from the parish.
