About the museum

The gallery brings together works from churches in the town of Corridonia, which belongs to the diocese of Fermo. After several failed projects between the 19th and early 20th centuries, the plan to unite the works in one place was approved by the ecclesiastical authority in 1952; since 1960 the collection has been housed in a room of the parish house next to the church of Santi Pietro, Paolo e Donato.

After the 2016 earthquake the gallery was moved to the chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes inside the parish church, in Via Cavour.

The collection comprises eight panels and canvases, from Gothic to Baroque: the Madonna dell’Umiltà (Madonna of Humility) by Andrea da Bologna (1372-73), fragments of a polyptych by the Vivarini, the Madonna di Corridonia attributed to Carlo Crivelli, a Saint Francis on a gold background, a triptych by Lorenzo d’Alessandro da San Severino, a painting by Vincenzo Pagani, a Madonna del Carmelo by Pomarancio and an 18th-century Saint Peter.
