About the museum
The museum grew out of the passion for collecting of Guido Minetti and Sylvia Pizzorno, a couple who for over forty years have gathered objects and vehicles of every kind. Thanks also to donations, the collection has grown into a museum of material culture. The part open to visitors is the Museo PassaTempo, a journey through Italian memory and customs of the 20th century.
The museum has two venues. The Sede Civica occupies a 19th-century building that housed the village schools for 120 years, until 2004; since 2013 the collection has been part of it, thanks to the European ERDF funds (European Regional Development Fund) of the “Musei in rete” project of the Stura, Orba and Leira valleys. The Casa Museo, a private house in the locality of Sant’Anna, holds the original core of the collection, with reconstructions of post-war interiors: the workshop, the general store, the living room, the domestic revolution of household appliances and home design.
