About the museum
The museum is housed in a late 19th-century hamlet school in the Pellenchi hamlet of Pramollo and is part of the Sistema museale eco-storico delle Valli Valdesi, coordinated by the Fondazione Centro Culturale Valdese. It presents education and culture in the Valli Valdesi, from the early 19th to the early 20th century.
The classroom gives a very eloquent picture of neighbourhood schools, starting with the furnishings: benches, teacher's desk, wooden blackboard and stove. On the walls, photographs and panels illustrate the valley's school system, while the display cases hold period objects and teaching materials: photo albums, magazines for children, Bibles, school textbooks, letters and programmes on the school, cultural and religious life of the community.
