About the museum

The museum was opened on 5 October 1986 by the Municipality of Prarostino together with the Comunità Montana Pinerolese Pedemontana. It is located in the main village of San Bartolomeo and collects tools and materials used for centuries by winegrowers of the Piedmontese foothills.

All the objects are original, donated by volunteers from Prarostino and the Comunità Montana, and are arranged following the vine growing cycle: from soil preparation to grafting, pruning and grape harvest. A second section is dedicated to winemaking and wine storage. The Municipality provides educational sheets on the viticultural calendar and on grape varieties.
