About the museum
The Museo storico dell'Aeronautica Militare is located at Vigna di Valle, on the shore of Lake Bracciano, and was established in 1977. It tells the story of the Italian Air Force and of flight in Italy through a chronological route spread over six exhibition pavilions, five of which are aircraft hangars, with a total area of over 16,000 m².
The spaces have their own names, including the Ipogeo and the Atrio and the Troster, Velo, Badoni, Skema and Hangar 100 areas. Among the aircraft on display are machines from very different eras, from the CANT Z.506 and the Piaggio aircraft to the modern F-16, Tornado, F-35, EF2000 and C-130.
To enrich the visit the museum provides an official app, audio guides and a virtual tour on the website. The museum is part of the Italian Air Force.
