Photographs by Federico Busonero devoted to the landscapes of the West Bank, taken on three trips between 2008 and 2009 commissioned by UNESCO to document places of particular cultural value.
The Museolab was founded in 2004 at the end of the urban archaeology project promoted between 1998 and 2003 by the Comune di Grosseto with the Medieval Archaeology area of the Università di Siena and the Soprintendenza Archeologica per la Toscana. It is run by the Fondazione Polo Universitario Grossetano and the Università di Siena and is located on the second floor of the Polo culturale Le Clarisse, in the former convent of Santa Chiara.
The idea was to create a space that was not only an exhibition, but one able to interact with the public, putting visitors in direct contact with the materials kept and with the results of archaeological research. The route follows a reverse chronological order, as an archaeologist does when digging: one starts from the most superficial layers, corresponding to the most recent periods, and descends towards the most remote ones. Original finds and large graphic reconstructions tell the story of the city and its territory.
Admission is free.
