About the museum
The museum park is dedicated to the German sculptor and painter Rainer Kriester (Plauen 1935 – Vendone 2002). In 1982 the artist discovered a hill at Castellaro, a hamlet of Vendone, with an ancient Saracen tower, which became his main place of work. Today 35 of his works are displayed there.
The exhibition area covers about 2,500 square metres around the towers of the medieval village, including the hexagonal tower, 25 metres high, the remains of the castle of the marquises of Clavesana.
On 8 August 2026 the municipality of Vendone announced the reopening of the park in the Torre district to the public, after energy-efficiency and sustainable territorial development works that had made a closure order necessary for safety reasons.
