About the museum
Minett Park Fond-de-Gras was once a transshipment station for iron ore. The neighboring mine was served by a mine railway on a 700 mm narrow-gauge network, most of which has since been preserved or restored. Since the 1990s the line has served a museum railway linking Fond-de-Gras with Lasauvage and, beyond it, the French village of Saulnes.
The ride is divided into sections. The first runs from Fond-de-Gras to the “Doihl” mine in Rodange and is operated with a Krauss steam locomotive from 1897. The second section, electrified at 500 volts, runs through an old ore tunnel about 1,400 meters long to Lasauvage; along the way there is a stop of roughly 25 minutes in the mine. A third section crosses the French border toward Saulnes.
The association owns a collection of steam, diesel and electric locomotives. According to Wikipedia, the rolling stock, tunnels, historic work tools and stops are maintained and operated by the association Minièresbunn Doihl-Rodange together with the heritage protection office. The trains are run by volunteers, as the historic equipment is more than 100 years old.

The terrain makes access difficult for people with limited mobility: Fond-de-Gras lies in a valley, the step into the historic carriages is high, and there are cobblestones and rail crossings.
