About the museum
Work on a rural heritage farmstead in Folldal began as early as 1949. A committee appointed by the municipality secured several houses but did not find a satisfactory site, and the work stalled. In 1975 Folldal municipality was able to buy the completed farmstead Uppigard Streitlien, which is today the main site of Folldal bygdetun.
Uppigard Streitlien was created by the surgeon and collector Anton Raabe (1889–1959) and the actress Tore Segelcke (1901–1979), who was known from the Nationaltheatret. Both had a strong interest in Norwegian nature and culture, and together they built up several private collections. Houses and furnishings from the valleys of eastern Norway were thus preserved for posterity. The municipality bought the place from Tore Segelcke.
On the farmstead stand, among others, Holenstugu, Korsvoldstugu, Ryengstugu, Kjøllhaugstugu, Lonaseterstugu, Ryhaugloftet, the forge (smia), Hanestadstabburet and several barns (løer) and stables. The rural heritage farmstead is run by Musea i Nord-Østerdalen, part of Anno museum.
