About the museum
Vinjestoga is the childhood home of the poet, journalist and language reformer Aasmund Olavsson Vinje (1818–1870). The house has preserved much of the original interior from the time when the Vinje family lived there.
In the living room, original copies of the newspaper Dølen, which Vinje published, are kept. During the guided tour visitors hear about everyday life in the house and about Vinje's life and work as a writer and journalist.
The house is open in the summer season. Outside the season, groups can book a guided tour through Vest-Telemark Museum.
