About the museum
The Muzeum Czynu Zbrojnego (Museum of Armed Deeds) was established in 1988 on the basis of private collections of military items connected with the struggles for independence in the area of Lipce Reymontowskie and its surroundings. The solemn opening took place on 23 January 1988, during the celebration of the 650th anniversary of the village. The museum operates within the Gminny Ośrodek Kultury, Sportu i Rekreacji (Municipal Centre of Culture, Sport and Recreation) in Lipce Reymontowskie.
The aim of the museum is to show the participation of residents of the commune and of the Skierniewice district in the Second World War, and the martyrdom of Polish villages. The collections are gathered in three rooms: the first two present weapons, uniforms, personal memorabilia and documents of soldiers of the regular units and of the resistance movement, and the third is devoted to the post-war history of the Polish Army, with its armaments, equipment and uniforms. The September exhibition presents, among other things, the 26th Skierniewice Infantry Division, cavalry, the battle of the 30th Infantry Division at Słupia, Przyłęk and Jeżów, and the battle on the Bzura.
Among the exhibits are a Polish Bofors anti-tank gun, model 1936, a rare grenade launcher, model 36, rifles, sabres, decorations and documents, and dog tags of fallen soldiers. The collection is complemented by an open-air exhibition of military equipment, including a T-34-85 tank.
