About the museum

The first exhibition was prepared in Bondyrz in the early 1970s. The museum is devoted to the Zamość Inspectorate of the Home Army (Armia Krajowa) and to the memory of its soldiers who fought in the Zamość region.

The exhibition was modernised as part of a renovation, and the solemn opening of the renewed exhibition took place on 28 September 2018. The permanent exhibition “Niezłomni Zamojszczyzny – armed struggle for independence in 1939–1953” tells the story of the AK soldiers’ fight against the German occupier and against the communist authorities.

The collections include more than 200 exhibits, among them weapons, uniforms and liturgical objects, as well as about 800 photographs and documents. Historical films can be watched in the cinema room, and the museum organises lectures, screenings and meetings with veterans.
