About the museum

Until 1945 Borne Sulinowo was a German garrison, and from 1945 to 1992 a secret Soviet military base that did not appear on maps. The town returned to Poland in October 1992. This unusual past forms the backdrop for the museum, which the Bartoszek family established in 2014.

The museum has gathered a collection of military vehicles from the Cold War period. It includes, among others, a T-34 tank, a Ural 375D truck, a GAZ 69 off-road vehicle, a BWP-1 infantry combat vehicle, a 2S1 Goździk self-propelled howitzer and a PTS-M amphibious tracked carrier, 11 metres long and weighing 17 tonnes. Many machines are in working order and are presented during demonstrations, and the museum also offers rides in the vehicles.

Admission to the museum is paid. The museum organises outdoor events, among them Dni Czołgisty (Tank Crewmen's Days).
