About the museum
The museum opened on 22 July 2008 in the former staff building of the Państwowe Gospodarstwo Rolne (PGR, State Agricultural Farm) in Grabinek, today Bolegorzyn. It came about on the initiative of residents: the village head (sołtyska), councillors and the former director of the farm, with the support of a foundation and a local association. The farm was established after the Second World War, and the museum documents its history from the beginning, through the period of its prosperity, to its liquidation, as well as the lives of the people who worked there.
The collection includes everyday objects and work tools from the PRL era (Polish People's Republic): an electric sheep-shearing machine, butter churns, a cream separator, a foreman's radio set, the director's desk, moisture-testing apparatus, sheepskin jackets, stamps, maps, decorations and trophies. The exhibition is supplemented by portraits, documents and photographs, and outside old agricultural machines are shown, including a working Ursus tractor from 1949.
The museum lies within the buffer zone of the Drawsko Landscape Park, above a bay of Lake Drawsko. According to available information, admission is free, and visitors may put a donation towards the purchase of new exhibits.
