About the museum
The Koszalin Narrow-Gauge Railway (Koszalińska Kolej Wąskotorowa) was opened in 1898 and is the only surviving railway of this type in the Koszalin region; its network once measured about 120 km. Today the tourist route of about 20 km from Koszalin to Rosnowo on Lake Rosnowskie is operated by the Towarzystwo Koszalińskiej Kolei Wąskotorowej (Koszalin Narrow-Gauge Railway Society).
In the historic narrow-gauge station building at ul. Kolejowa, a museum room is open to visitors, where railway souvenirs can also be bought and information obtained. The main attraction is the historic rolling stock, including the Px48 steam locomotive owned by the Muzeum Narodowe w Szczecinie (National Museum in Szczecin), which was lent to the society free of charge in 2019 and has carried passengers again since September 2021.
By prior arrangement, the locomotive shed, the “heart of the railway”, can be visited with a guide only.
