About the museum
The Muzeum Sztuki Książki (Museum of the Art of the Book) is located in the historic seat of the Kurtiak i Ley Art Publishing House at ul. Szczecińska 1 in Koszalin. The publishing house is run by Urszula Kurtiak and Edward Ley; for about thirty years they have been creating limited, numbered bibliophile editions with original illustrations or prints, often hand-bound in leather, silk, wood or metal. Their work has contributed to the artistic revival of bookbinding in Poland.
The museum is part of this offer and presents the book as a work of art and craft. Its visitors include school groups, scouts and bookbinders; the museum also takes part in the Night of Museums.
Visits are possible only after an appointment has been arranged with the publishing house.
