About the museum
The museum in Lusowo opened on 2 September 1996 in a school room at ul. Nowa 6. In December 2008 it moved to its present seat at ul. Ogrodowa 3a, and since 1 April 2018 it has been a municipal cultural institution of the Tarnowo Podgórne commune (gmina).
The museum’s patron is General Józef Dowbor-Muśnicki (1867–1937), commander of the 1st Polish Corps in Russia and supreme commander of the forces of the Greater Poland Uprising in 1919. In autumn 1919 he bought the estate in Lusowo, where he settled permanently, ran an exemplary farm, and died in 1937.
