About the museum
The Muzeum Pszczelarstwa w Czerwonce (Beekeeping Museum in Czerwonka) is a private institution of the Kotowicz family, operating at a working apiary established at the beginning of the second half of the 20th century. The founder and curator of the collections was Wacław Kotowicz.
On the farm's premises beekeeping equipment, old tools and agricultural machinery from the first half of the 20th century have been gathered, as well as memorabilia from Warmia. The greatest attraction is ten working figurative beehives, shaped like houses, palaces and castles, or like human and animal faces. Melliferous and medicinal plants grow in the garden.
Honey, other bee products and wax candles can be bought on site. The hosts also run classes within the framework of so-called green schools (zielone szkoły) for children and young people.
