About the museum
The Regional Museum in Odolanów operates within the Odolanów House of Culture. According to information from the centre, it was established in 1962 on the initiative of local regionalists who wanted to save memorabilia of the town's former residents and the surrounding area. Odolanów lies in the valley of the Barycz, not far from the former border of the partitions.
The most important part of the collections is the permanent exhibition devoted to the Greater Poland Uprising, with memorabilia, photographs and documents relating to the events of 1918–1919 in Odolanów and its surroundings. A separate ethnographic section gathers everyday objects, tools and furnishings of old houses, as well as folk sculptures by Paweł Bryliński. The museum also has a small archaeological collection from the region.
Since 2021 an art gallery has operated at the museum, showing works by artists connected with the Odolanów land.
