About the museum
The Muzeum Społeczne PTTK w Przeworsku is located in the Pieniążek tenement house at ul. Marii Konopnickiej 6. It was founded on 19 March 2009 and officially opened on 8 December 2012. The main initiators were Piotr Uksik, chairman of the management board of the PTTK branch in Przeworsk, and Władysław Dziedzic, deputy chairman of the branch board and chairman of the Towarzystwo Miłośników Miasta Przeworska i Regionu.
The exhibition “Przeworsk – Dzieje i Ludzie” occupies the first floor of the tenement house and covers 160 m² in six rooms. The collections come from people connected with the Przeworsk PTTK branch.
Visitors can see the collection of PTTK qualified tourism badges and medals of princes and kings, souvenirs linked to the history of the PTTK branch in Przeworsk, and materials about the town and the surrounding villages. The exhibition also presents oil portraits of tourism and heritage activists, princes, district chiefs, mayors, village heads (wójts) and county heads (starosts), together with their biographies.
