About the museum

The Unitra Museum was established on the initiative of the Poznań association Muzeum Unitra, which wants to preserve the memory of Polish designers and of electronics production in the times of the Polish People's Republic. Originally the exhibits could be seen in the building of the Communications Schools Complex (Zespół Szkół Łączności) at ul. Przełajowa 4; at the end of 2023 they were moved to the new seat at ul. Bronowa 3, where an open day was held on 2 December 2023.

The collections number about 3 thousand exhibits, including radio receivers, tape recorders, record players, amplifiers and loudspeaker columns. Some of them come from the private collection of one of the founders and were restored before being shown. The exhibition recalls products of brands such as Diora, Fonica, Radmor, ZRK, Eltra and Tonsil in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s.

Unitra was a state association of the electronics and telecommunications industry, established in 1961. The museum also runs educational activities with young people, and during the Museum Night it additionally provides access to computers from the 1980s, such as the Atari, Amiga and ZX Spectrum.
