About the museum

The Muzeum Wsi w Narwi (Narew Village Museum) is a private institution run by its owner, Marian Święcki. The collections are displayed in his house at ul. Dąbrowskiego, and visitors are welcome after arranging a visit by telephone.

The ethnographic exhibition includes old farm tools and everyday objects: a spinning wheel, a sewing machine, irons and a weaving loom. Among the larger exhibits are a horse-driven gin (kierat), a chaff cutter, a beet slicer, hand mills, a fire pump from the mid-19th century, an iron farm cart and an old saw for cutting logs.

The collection is complemented by an exhibition of photographs by Marian Święcki showing the Narew commune and its surroundings: landscapes, sacred buildings and village life in Podlasie.
