About the museum
The Muzeum Ziemi Kaszubskiej i Sprzętów Militarnych (Museum of the Kashubian Land and Military Equipment) in Goręczyno was founded by Sławomir Kamiński, a Kashubian born in Wejherowo and raised near Sierakowice. The museum is housed on a private property in Goręczyno. Its collection numbers several thousand exhibits, most of them from Kashubia, hence the name of the museum.
The collection includes military items, mainly from the Second World War, such as the barrel of a Soviet D44 anti-tank gun, helmets, uniforms, weapons and ammunition. There are also old farm implements, everyday objects (irons, lamps, scissors) and a Star 25 fire engine. A particularly special memento is a rare Home Army (Armia Krajowa) membership card from 1944, which belonged to Sergeant Franciszek Kamiński, the owner’s paternal uncle.
