About the museum
The idea of a permanent museum was born in 1979, when, on the occasion of the 700th anniversary of Wronki, regionalists from the Society of Friends of the Wronki Land organised two exhibitions. The former granary from the mid-19th century in the town centre was chosen as the seat. The renovation lasted intermittently for twelve years, and the museum opened on 27 November 1993. The building also housed a public library.
Originally it operated as the Regional Museum in Wronki; since 2012 it has been a department of the Wronki Cultural Centre and bears the name Museum of the Wronki Land. The collections number nearly five thousand objects, most of which were donated by residents.
The exhibitions are divided into four departments: artistic and historical, archaeological (including Lusatian culture from excavations in Wronki), ethnographic, and hunting and natural history devoted to the Noteć Forest (Puszcza Notecka). In the cellar there is a room for temporary exhibitions, where meetings and classes for adults and children also take place.
