About the museum
The Nadbużański Park Historyczno-Kulturowy “Bug – pogranicze kultur i religii” was established in 2012 as a unit of the Miejsko-Gminny Ośrodek Kultury (town and commune cultural centre) in Drohiczyn. The park tells the story of the town on the Bug and of the meeting of cultures and religions on the former borderland. Its seat is the complex at ul. Kopernika 9.
The regional museum presents the history of Drohiczyn from the early Middle Ages to the modern period. It shows, among other things, archaeological finds, glass beads of Ruthenian origin, lead seals with symbols of Ruthenian princes, religious objects and Drohiczyn ceramics. A separate section of the exhibition is devoted to ethnography: farming tools and old everyday objects.
The park also has a permanent Wystawa Starych Motocykli (Exhibition of Old Motorcycles) with more than fifty exhibits from Poland and other European countries, and a collection of number plates from various countries. Next door is the Ośrodek Edukacji Ekologicznej “Puszczyk” (Puszczyk Ecological Education Centre), with a multimedia exhibition on the nature of the Bug valley, and at ul. Kraszewskiego 24 the Nadbużańskie Centrum Turystyki Kajakowej (Bug Canoe Tourism Centre), which presents historic kayaks and the equipment of water sports enthusiasts.
