About the museum
The museum emerged from an initiative of the civic association Hasičský zbor Priekopa, which was founded on 24 April 2007. One of the association's main aims was to build and run a fire-fighting museum and to continually add historically valuable material to its collection. In cooperation with the City of Martin, the museum opened in 2014 in the former SIM military stores (Sklady intendančného materiálu).
The exhibitions are spread across three buildings on the site. The same site also has a small zoo farm, barbecue areas, sports grounds and a pump track.

- Kúzelný svet minulosti – Exhibition of historical irons, toys and prams; the ticket also includes the exhibition Dedičstvo minulosti (Heritage of the Past) on historic businesses in Turiec.
