About the museum
The oldest surviving written mention of the mill owned by the Králik family dates from 1822: it appears on a map of the lands of the Nemšová cadastre kept in the archive in Bytča. According to the records of the canonical visitation of 1829, the mill belonged to the parish and the miller was Georg Králik. Milling passed in the family from father to son for at least five generations, and in 1950 the mill was nationalised.
The mill has stood in its place for at least 250 years and houses unique technical equipment. After reconstruction in 2018 and 2019 it is a unique technical monument of its kind in the region, and in November 2019 it opened to visitors. It is operated by the town of Nemšová.
