About the museum
The municipality of Spišské Bystré established a permanent exhibition in the historic granary of 1906, called Kubašský ľemhalz, and opened it to the public on 20 February 2020. Visitors can see period objects, storage vessels, craft equipment and implements, as well as everyday objects.
The first part of the exhibition is devoted to processing grain up to its storage. The second focuses on processing flax and includes, for example, flax combs (česačky), flax breakers (trepačky, terglice), terefenty, warping frames (snovadlá) and looms (krosná).
The project was realised thanks to a grant of €5,000 from the Slovenská agentúra životného prostredia, from the Environmentálny fond within the Program obnovy dediny (Village Renewal Programme) for 2019.
