About the museum
The Mestské múzeum a galéria vo Veľkom Šariši (Municipal Museum and Gallery in Veľký Šariš) is a young cultural institution of the town, with a museum and gallery section covering an area of about 200 m². The first exhibition is devoted to Šarišský hrad (Šariš Castle) and presents around 350 archaeological finds from the 12th to 17th centuries, that is, from the period when the castle declined.
The museum was preparing further exhibitions. According to a notice on the town's website, updated on 12 August 2025, the museum is temporarily closed because of a move and reconstruction work.
