About the museum
The village of Liptovský Ján received its name from the patron of its church, Saint John the Baptist (svätý Ján Krstiteľ), and the noble family Svätojánski (Szentiványi) also took its name from the village. The first written mention of the village dates from 1263.
The exhibition in the premises of the cultural centre is divided into three parts: the first deals with the origin of the village, the second with the most important members of the Sentiváni family and their manor houses, and the third with the present natural beauty of the Ján Valley, with its springs and caves. Visitors can see period clothing and objects preserved in the family's manor houses. The village presented it as newly opened in October 2020.
