About the museum
Anin dvor stands close to the spa centre of Rogaška Slatina on Cvetlični hrib. The name comes from the time when Saint Anne was venerated as a saint and patron of women; a chapel of Saint Anne was built in her honour. The museum is also the home of the collections of the Ljudski muzej Rogaška Slatina (Folk Museum Rogaška Slatina) and one of the main sights in the heart of the town.
Through eight thematic collections, visitors learn about the history of the town and its main sights: the glass, graphic, local history, royal, philographic, park, water and beauty collections. The gem of the house is the Kraljeva zbirka (Royal Collection), one of the largest private collections on the Karađorđević dynasty in the world, the work of the local collector Nani Poljanec. The graphic collection of Kurt Müller comprises 40,000 prints in 240 themes and shows the image of Rogaška Slatina between the 16th and 18th centuries. The glass collection shows the stages of making crystal glass, and the park collection uses interactive displays on the Rogaška park.
On the ground floor there is an event space called the mala Kristalna dvorana (small Crystal Hall), from whose ceiling 3,500 small crystals hang. Anin dvor places emphasis on the digitisation of cultural heritage; glass-blowing demonstrations are also available.
