About the museum
The Grajska pristava is a building joined together from several economic outbuildings from different periods since the 18th century. According to surviving historical sources, the outbuildings once extended directly to Ormož Castle, but one part was later demolished. The finest rooms feature stone Tuscan columns and six pilasters in the museum section, and a barrel-vaulted hall on the ground floor of the music school.
The Ormož unit of the Pokrajinski muzej Ptuj Ormož (Regional Museum Ptuj–Ormož) is housed in the Pristava. The permanent exhibitions present medieval sculpture from the Ormož area; Late Bronze Age and Iron Age pottery from urnfield cemeteries; the pottery tradition of Ormož and the surrounding area and of Središče ob Dravi; Biedermeier middle-class furnishings from the collection of Marko Sluga; and the tapestries of the painter Marij Pregelj.
