About the museum
Between the alpine pastures of Zaprikraj and Predolina in the Krn range lie well-preserved, cleared and partly restored positions of the first Italian defence line. Firing trenches, dark caverns, artillery and mortar positions, the remains of barracks and a restored memorial bear witness to the battles of the Isonzo Front in the First World War.
The open-air museum lies at an altitude of about 1,259 metres, within the Triglav National Park, among still working alpine pastures, and is part of the Peace Trail (Pot miru) from the Alps to the Adriatic. The remains are on both sides of the gravel track at the junction of the forest path and the path to the Predolina alpine pasture. Information and guided tours are offered by the Informacijski center Pot miru (Peace Trail Information Centre) in Kobarid.
