About the museum
The vehicle collection of the Tehniški muzej Slovenije is stored in the depot in Soteska. As a whole the collection has no broader message, but each object on its own may be of interest to visitors; apart from the horse-drawn vehicles, the vehicles used by people cannot really be treated in a museological way.
Visitors can see the collection of bicycles and motorcycles, horse-drawn vehicles for transporting goods and people, among them a lojtrni voz (ladder wagon), an open carriage, koleslji (wheeled carts), zapravljivčki (light carts) and sledges, fire pumps and cars, among them the Zastava 750 and 850, Citroën GS and Mercedes 320. The collection in the depot is occasionally exchanged and supplemented, since the museum in Bistra lacks space.
The depot lies beside Soteska Castle in the municipality of Dolenjske Toplice. Opening hours are shorter: in summer at weekends, otherwise by arrangement through the TIC Dolenjske Toplice.
