About the museum
The seat of the Vicente Risco Foundation, on Calle San Lourenzo in Allariz, is the former house where the Galician writer, politician and thinker Vicente Risco lived. The foundation, which manages his legacy, has operated since the mid-1990s and holds a bibliographic and documentary collection on the author and his circle.
On 1 December 2025 the Consello de la Xunta de Galicia agreed that the legacy held by the Foundation should be integrated into the Galician Museum System under the name “Colección museográfica da Fundación Vicente Risco”, recognising its cultural interest in literature, art, politics and ethnography. In 2026 the Foundation's seat is presented as a museum.
The route brings together six permanent spaces: the Sala de Caricaturas (Caricature Room), with drawings Risco made of friends and characters of his time; “Galicia como proxecto vital”, devoted to the thought and work of Risco and Castelao; an illustrated walk through the novel “O Porco de Pé”, with paintings by Xabier Varela; a recreation of the author's study, with his writing tools and part of his working library; an avant-garde art room with works by his artist friends; and a selection of the writer's original works.
