About the museum
The museum occupies a charcuterie house in Candelario, the Salamanca town known for its tradition of sausages and cured meats. It shows how life was lived in the town at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th.
The furniture and utensils are original, lent by local residents, and the collection exceeds 400 pieces. The house is toured through rooms organised by theme, with information panels built into each space, without abrupt breaks in the route.
The museum also offers theatrical visits that take the visitor back to a pig slaughter in Candelario around 1920.
