About the museum
The Centro de Interpretación da Muralla occupies an 18th-century building in the historic centre of Lugo, on the Praza do Campo, and shares the ground-floor reception with the municipal tourist office. It is devoted to explaining the history of the Roman city wall, its construction, its various uses and its influence on Lugo over time, with a social and playful approach.
The exhibition is spread over the upper floors and the roof attic, and each level is devoted to a different period. On each floor there is a video about how residents see the monument and how it affects the daily life of the city, and touchscreens allow visitors to see simulations of how Lugo was, with its buildings, its people and its key places. Each visitor decides how long to spend on the route.
