About the museum
The centre is in Villalafuente, a small village in the municipality of Saldaña (Palencia), and preserves houses of traditional architecture built of adobe, stone and elm and oak timber. Its purpose is to show what the dwellings and outbuildings needed for rural life in this area were like.
The visit goes through the original buildings and several farm outbuildings: a traditional apiary, the bread oven, the stable and the hayloft. It is complemented by a collection of farm tools typical of the Saldaña area. The town council of Saldaña looks after the upkeep of the site, and visits are arranged by appointment.
