About the museum
The Vivienda obrera (workers’ housing) is one of the museum spaces of the Lenbur Foundation in the urban centre of Legazpi. It tells the story of a town that, like many others, was transformed by the emergence of new factories, to which thousands of families came in search of work and a better future. Visits are by appointment.
The visit immerses visitors in the day-to-day life of a newly arrived working family: a house without television, fridge, washing machine or heating, in which lodgers (pupilos) or neighbours entitled to use the kitchen lived alongside the factory's tenants.
For families, the activity “Conoce la vida de nuestros abuelos” (“Discover the lives of our grandparents”) is offered, and the visit includes audio guides.
