About the museum
The Museo de la Batalla del Ebro in Fayón (Zaragoza) grew out of the interest of two residents of the town in gathering objects, documents and memorabilia of the fighting of 1938 in the area. With that material and the support of the town council, a temporary exhibition was organised in the summer of 2007; its success led to a permanent museum, opened in July 2012.
The museum occupies a former textile factory of more than 1,000 m². The route brings together a documentation and archive centre, an interpretation centre and the permanent exhibition, which includes models, documents, posters, rifles, bayonets, uniforms, aircraft remains and restored artillery pieces. Several staged spaces recreate a wartime camp, with a field hospital, bunker and command post, as well as a trench with mannequins.
In 2025 the museum reopened after a review of the exhibition, with digital screens in the rooms, an information totem at the entrance and a space for the vintage vehicles that take part in the historical re-enactment of the battle, which is held every year in the town.
