About the museum
The museum is housed in the Convent of San Francisco in Mula, a building whose origins go back to 1574 and which has been restored for cultural use. It shares the building with the city's tourist office.
Its permanent exhibition, “El legado de Mula en la historia”, traces the town's past from prehistory to recent times. The pieces on display come exclusively from archaeological sites in Mula; some are unique and have no parallels in other excavations. The collections were previously deposited in the Archaeological Museum of Murcia.
The museum also has a room for temporary exhibitions and forms part of the group of museums in Mula, together with the Museo Cristóbal Gabarrón, the Museo de Arte de San Miguel and the Museo del Cigarralejo.
