About the museum

The museum is named after its founder, Juan Fernández Cruz, and occupies the Casa Grande, a vernacular building in Zuheros with four storeys and two courtyards. It holds a collection of more than 3,000 pieces spread across 28 spaces, which recreate the economic and social way of life of the village and its region from the late 19th century to the mid-20th century.

In addition to the displays on trades, the household and customs, the museum shows collections of its own, such as the agricultural models and miniatures made by the founder, a collection of keys, locks and bolts, and one of tobacco.

The admission ticket, called “Visita Histórica”, also gives access to the Museo Arqueológico Municipal (municipal archaeological museum), housed in the same building, and to the Castillo-Palacio de Zuheros (castle-palace).
